A PPA is a solar financing agreement where a company installs solar panels on your home at no upfront cost. You pay a fixed monthly rate for the electricity your panels produce — typically 30-50% less than what you currently pay your utility. You get clean energy and savings from day one, with no maintenance costs for 25 years.
With a PPA, there is zero upfront cost. No down payment, no deposit, no hidden fees. Your monthly solar payment replaces your utility bill and is typically lower from month one. The exact amount depends on your system size, location, and chosen escalator rate — which is exactly what our calculator shows you.
The escalator rate is the percentage your solar payment increases each year. A 0% escalator means your payment stays the same for 25 years. A higher escalator (like 1.99% or 3.59%) means a lower starting payment that gradually increases. Even at 3.59%, your solar costs rise far slower than utility rates, which have historically increased 5-7% per year in California.
Solar adds value to your home. When you sell, the PPA agreement simply transfers to the new homeowner — they inherit the savings. Studies show homes with solar sell faster and for more money. It's a selling point, not a liability.
Every system we install includes at least one Tesla Powerwall battery. This gives you backup power during outages and allows you to store excess solar energy for use at night.
